Fall 2025 Events Celebrate Upgrades at Austin Town Hall, Douglass & Humboldt Parks
As part of the Culture in My Neighborhood initiative, the ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ has undertaken an ambitious multi-phase project to modernize and enhance auditoriums, performance spaces, and backstage areas across our network of 15 neighborhood Cultural Centers. Physical improvements, technical upgrades, and accessibility enhancements will revitalize these spaces, making them newly equipped to comfortably welcome larger and more technical performances and provide professional-level support and technical capabilities to park and neighborhood events.
Phase One of this project completed construction in 2024, with updated facilities at Austin Town Hall, Douglass Park, and Humboldt Park opening for park use and performances. These upgraded spaces have user-friendly, fully integrated technology including updated lighting and audio/visual packages, new speakers and digital sound consoles that provide full-room sound to acoustically remodeled auditoriums, digital projectors, and motorized, full-stage projection screens for clear, crisp and easy media playback. This fall, all three auditoriums will officially debut with a series of community-centered events and programs from September 5-December 12. Highlighting each space’s upgrades and featuring each park’s neighborhood, community, and culture, more than 20 events across all three spaces will include something for everyone, from dance lessons to movie screenings, from concerts to photo exhibitions.
