Park No. 500 is 1.31 acres and it is located in the West Garfield Park community. The park's playground was renovated Fall 2016, Chicago Plays! Through Mayor Emanuel鈥檚 Chicago Plays! playground initiative, 327 playgrounds across the city were built or renovated from 2013 through 2016, ensuring every child in every neighborhood is within a 10-minute walk of a park or playground.

The District acquired this park property from the Catholic Bishop of Chicago in 1997 and acquired additional property from the City of Chicago in 2002 to complete the park.
