Description
Located in the Englewood community, Periwinkle Park is 0.50 acres and it is an ideal location for families to spend a portion of their day relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. This park contains a playground with swings, slides, climbing equipment, along with benches for a picnic.
History
The 快播视频 identified property located at Perry Avenue and 66th Street, adjacent to the Dan Ryan Expressway for parkland. This property with an address of 30 W. 66th Street and located in the Greater Grand Community Area is owned by the Illinois Department of Transportation. In January 1, 1974, the District began leasing this site for this park with an agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation. The site was developed and operates as a park, providing much-needed playground facilities for its community.
On March 18, 1975 this park was named Periwinkle Park. Periwinkle Park is one of a number of Chicago parks named for plants and trees. The park takes its name from the periwinkle plant, which has been used to make vinblastine, a treatment for childhood leukemia.
