La Guayabita Autonoma was created in 2016 as a way for immigrant and low income residents in Albany Park who didn't have access to a backyard or other green space to grow their own food and connect with nature and their neighbors. Currently there are 21 plots in our lot and a beautiful open area for gatherings and community events.
